Some behaviours that can result in a student misconduct form are:
- Causing significant disruption in the classroom which undermines others and the student's learning.
- Aggressive or violent behaviour towards oneself or others.
- Disrespecting ones' peers or teachers.
- Consistently not completing homework in a timely manner.
- Consistenly arriving late to school.

The following rules apply for ALL tests and quizzes:
- EVERYTHING except a pencil, eraser, and sharpener must be cleared off your desk. You will not receive your test until you do so.
- There is absolutely no talking during a test. If you are caught talking, I will take your test and you will receive a mark of zero (0). If you need to borrow an eraser or sharpener, or if you have a question, raise your hand and I will come to you.
- Your eyes should be on your own paper and nowhere else.
- Do not leave your seat without permission during a test.
- When you are finished, review your test to make sure you answered every question to the best of your ability. Trust your gut, and don't leave any questions blank!
- After you've reviewed your test and are confident in your answers, turn it over. Wait for the teacher to collect it from you.
- TRY YOUR BEST! :)
Classroom Rules
- Respect yourself and others. Remember to practice adab.
- Listen to, and follow the teacher's instructions.
- Raise your hand if you wish to speak or leave your seat.
- When others are speaking, you are listening.
- Only one person should be speaking at a time.
- Trips to the washroom and to get a drink should be made at recess and lunch.
- Keep our classroom clean. Remember that cleanliness is a part of your Deen!
Water Bottle Policy
Al Hijra Academy has just instated a new rule that water bottles are now to be left off of students desks, and at the back of the room with their lunch. Students are invited to drink water before school, during recesses and lunchtime, and after school. They may also ask for permission to leave the room and get a drink. This means that students are without water for, at most, 1.5hrs at a time (some exceptions are made for health reasons). This rule was communicated to students and the reasons behind it explained.
This rule came into effect for several reasons:
b) Students should be in the habit of making wu'du directly after using the washroom. Doing so means more time out of the classroom.
c) Many students, especially those in younger grades, forget to make wu'du right after using the washroom. This means that they're often scrambling at the last second to make wu'du. The washrooms become crowded and students are late to prayer.
d) Our school uses septic tanks; we do not have a regular plumbing system that is connected to the City like other schools. The more often students are unnecessarily using the washroom, the more often they're flushing. This becomes a burden to the school's resources.
We are asking for student and parent cooperation with this matter so that we may, bi'idhnillah, have a great and successful year!
Any further comments or questions can be directed to Sr. Waheeda Khan ([email protected]).
Thank you!

This rule came into effect for several reasons:
- There has been an issue with water bottles breaking and/or open water bottles spilling all over classroom floors. This becomes both a distraction to learning and a health hazard.
- Some students have been playing with water bottles rather than leaving them on their desks and using them only for their intended purpose.
- Students drinking all day means they are constantly asking to use the washroom. This poses several issues:
